Classrooms in the Clouds is a charity formed in the UK to raise funds and material to assist in the provision of education to the children of Nepal. The Trustees are made up of four individuals who have trekked in Nepal before and want to give something back to the wonderful Nepalese people, the Sherpa Guide who led the treks they were on, and one other UK-based individual with previous experience of assisting in the running of charities to aid children.
The aim of Classrooms in the Clouds is to provide the funds and equipment that local people need to become empowered to create educational opportunities for their families.
We aim to raise money in two main ways:
- Arranging local fundraising events with all proceeds going to the charity fund.
- Receiving donations/grants/sponsorships from local and national business and individuals.
All funds raised will be transferred via telegraphic transfer to Nepal to be used in the building, maintenance, and upgrading of schools and facilities to enable the children to receive a proper education, and also to pay the wages of extra teachers employed in our classrooms and to provide scholarships for selected students.
